Bronze for Cahul at the European Weightlifting Championship in Greece
The municipality of Cahul continues to shine on the international sports scene, this time through the performances of athlete Chihai Nicolae.
At the European Weightlifting Championship in Greece, U-15/17 category, Chihai Nicolae, disciple of the Specialized Weightlifting School in the municipality of Cahul, demonstrated great talent and determination in the competition.
In the first test, snatched, he lifted 72 kg, obtaining the bronze medal. In the second test, thrown, he managed to lift 90 kg, awarding him the silver medal. With a total of 162 kg in the two exercises, he got 3rd place in the final ranking.
In the following days, two other talented athletes from Cahul, Rudic Diana and Chemenceji Ivan, are to participate in the same competition. We wish them every success and are confident that they will continue to demonstrate the sporting excellence of our city.
