In a first for the Republic of Moldova, the municipality of Cahul hosted on July 2 the International Cheerleading Festival "Majorette Fest Moldova", a large-scale cultural event that brought together the most talented cheerleading teams in the country and in Romania.

The festival started with a spectacular parade of cheerleaders, led by the Cahul Municipal Band, which started from the square of the "Nicolae Botgros" Palace of Culture and continued through the city center to Horelor Square. Among the participants were the mayor of Cahul, Nicolae Dandiș, special guests and guests from the "Cahul4Culture" National Forum.

The festival continued with spectacular performances by the participating teams, including Majorette Show Iuventa from Cahul, N'Joy from Buzău, Magic Girls from Constanța, Majoret Creative from Leova, Funny Baton from Taraclia and Champy's Majorette Dance from Cantemir. All the teams were awarded the festival trophy for their impressive performances.

On the stage of the festival, Mrs. Viorica Ciobanu awarded a diploma of gratitude from the Union of Musicians from the Republic of Moldova to Mrs. Rodica Panasescu, master of arts, director of the Palace of Culture and president of the FBTM Federation and leader of the "Majorette-Show", for her contribution outstanding in organizing and promoting this event.

"Congratulations on the opening of the First International Festival "Majorette Fest Moldova" - this is a cultural event not only for the city of Cahul, but also for the choreographic art of the Republic of Moldova.
Because, a communication platform for choreographers was created here, where exchange of experiences takes place, where you can grow and develop dance groups, as well as to demonstrate choreographic art to the public. Rodica Panașescu, as the organizer, offered diplomas of gratitude to the Cahul City Hall for their support and financial support, as well as to Mrs. Cristina Tanasache and Viorica Ciobanu for their support, appreciation and contribution to the promotion of the event.

The purpose of the International Cheerleading Festival "Majorette Fest Moldova" was to popularize and promote the sport of cheerleading, demonstrating refinement and elegance through their unique style and varied choreography. The event showcased creativity in combining movement with the use of space and props, highlighting the diversity of this sport. Also, the festival aimed to establish collaborative relationships with other countries in the field of cheerleading culture and sport, propagating human values ​​and enriching the country's cultural heritage.

"Majorette Fest Moldova" was part of the program of activities dedicated to Cahul City Day, marking 522 years since the documentary attestation of the locality. The event was organized by Cahul City Hall in partnership with the National Majorette and Baton Twirling Sports Federation and the "Nicolae Botgros" Palace of Culture in Cahul.
