Palace of Culture "N. Botgros" from Cahul May 25, 2024 was the host of the premiere of the children's show "Isprăvile lui Păcală" by Petre Dulfu. The show, made by the teenagers of the "Masca" Theater Studio, brought the Romanian folk story to the stage in an engaging and authentic manner.
Teenagers between the ages of 11 and 16 gave life to the characters from Romanian folklore, offering an interpretation full of energy and passion. The head of the Theater Studio "Masca" and the director of the show, Mrs. Alina Carp, emphasized the enthusiasm and dedication of the young actors:
The idea of putting on a folklore show was appreciated by the children, especially since Păcală's snoaves are very well known. I worked hard, hard, and the roles were cast perfectly. It's a well-concise show, colored by costumes created especially for this show. It was easy for me to work with them because they are teenagers and they took responsibility. We worked together on both the character creation and the soundtrack, and in the end we have a beautiful, folkloric work for all ages. I can definitely say that this show has a future and potential to be promoted and brought to international stages.
One of the outstanding aspects of the show was the decor and scenography, created by Pavel Cornogolub, and the costumes, created by Marcela Creciun and Zorina Atanasov. Pavel Cornogolub emphasized the importance of authenticity in creating the setting:
In the setting of this show, we paid special attention to the elements of the houses, thus emphasizing the style of our authentic southern houses.
The set and costumes played a crucial role in bringing the story to life, providing an authentic and immersive setting for the audience. Traditional elements have been meticulously integrated, highlighting the beauty and uniqueness of the local culture.
The premiere of the show "Isprăvile lui Păcală" was a resounding success, demonstrating the talent and dedication of the young actors from Cahul. The audience was delighted by the artistic performances and the visual richness of the show, once again confirming the importance of promoting traditional culture.
