From June 24 to 29, Cahul hosted the international painting camp "Identity through Color", an event that brought together 35 painters from the Republic of Moldova, Romania and Ukraine. The camp began with a get-to-know-you meeting, giving participants the opportunity to introduce themselves and share their expectations.
On the second day, the painters had a trip around the city to identify locations that would inspire their works. Over the next few days, they created three paintings, two of which will remain in the cultural heritage of Cahul.
The camp also included master-class sessions for children from the municipality and students from the School of Fine Arts. Mentors included Anatolie Gherasimov from Chisinau, Costin Brăteanu from Bucharest and Natalia Ariton from Cahul. Each shared valuable techniques and experiences, captivating the young and art-loving participants.
The event ended with the exhibition of the works in Independence Square, where Mayor Nicolae Dandiș awarded participation diplomas and thanked the painters, emphasizing the importance of these creative and networking activities for the cultural development of the municipality.
The camp was organized by the Cahul City Hall within the project "Cahul - Cultural-Creative Capital of the Republic of Moldova", the camp benefited from the financial support of the European Union through the EU4Culture project, implemented by the Goethe Institute, the French Institute of Georgia, the Danish Cultural Institute and Czech Centers.
