The Sports School no. 1 stands out for the results of the athletes who attend the aerobics, gymnastics, sports dance, basketball, volleyball, chess, table tennis clubs, all with outstanding results in competitions, national and international championships.
"GAMA SIND" basketball sports club 4 national championship titles, 5 Moldavian Cups and is the first holder of the Moldavian Supercup. And the women's volleyball team, taking 3rd place at the RM Championship, 2022.
On the wall of the School building in 1989, a mosaic was executed by the artist GA Hadjioglov (in some sources Hadjalov), a native of Ukraine, a member of the Union of Visual Artists of Russia, he made numerous exhibitions all over the world, a series of monumental works in R. Moldova during the years 1979-89, including two mosaics in the city of Cahul. Among them is this mosaic – a panel made up of five stylized compositions with a sports theme, brightly colored, made of enamel (melted glass with pigments of different colors).
