The specifics: History and ethnography. Ethnography is folk wisdom in which multi-century knowledge and experience in various fields is reflected, it is the science that studies the code of unwritten laws, the status by which a people lives, works and creates. Considering the specificity and activity of the museum, as well as the contemporary cultural context, the Museum of History and Ethnography becomes a museum connected to the universal desideratum regarding a museum of the 21st century and recognized both for its uniqueness, for the organized activities, and for the relevance on who has it in front of the public. A museum with a richly diversified heritage of national importance, representative of the interests of our museum community. The categories of cultural goods include 10,560 objects that illustrate history from ancient times to the present day.
The museum has six rooms:
- Hall of Initiation;
- Ethnography room;
- Peasant house - grandparents' house;
- Big house;
- Hall of Memory;
- Tourist information center.
It operates in modern and efficient conditions with as its basic pillars the research of the heritage it owns harmonized to the four values now promoted by the European Network of Museum Organizations and adapted by many museums in Europe; the value of the collections; educational value; social value; economic value.
