    Short description

The house-museum "La Mama Catita" is a paradise of local values transposed into carpets, fabrics, embroideries and traditional objects from the peasant's house. It is one of the oldest houses, having been built in 1936. The house reflects the traditional way of laying out the rooms and has an open clay window. Here lives Mama Catița, called by the locals the "encyclopedia of the village", a woman with a face full of wisdom, hardworking hands and a gentle smile, who faithfully kept all the inheritance from her parents and grandparents. In this house, time has stood still, and every object hides legends and stories about the family's life. The most impressive things are Mother Cat's wedding dress, embroidered shirts, a 200-year-old tablecloth, pillows and sheets, dowry chest, carpets with purple flowers and many handicrafts.

Any encounter with Mama Catita is a lesson in life, kindness and gratitude, passion for traditions, customs and local history. Mama Catita serves her guests with traditional dishes: honey cakes and fresh or dried fruit compote. Apart from the visit and discussions with Mama Catita, cultural events can be organized at the house museum, such as sit-downs, ethno-folkloric shows or photo sessions in old traditional clothes.

Come to the Grandparents House! At "Mama Catita" you immerse yourself in history and feel the atmosphere of a traditional peasant house.
