    Short description

    Bust of Piotr Rumeanțev (1725-1796), field marshal of the Russian army, who achieved the famous victories against the Turks in 1770, at Larga and Lake Cahul (Vulcănești). The bust was inaugurated in 2001, in front of the "Piotr Rumeanțev" Theoretical High School. On the pedestal are the following inscriptions, in Russian: "FIELD MARSHAL RUMEANȚEV PIOTR ALEXANDROVICI / Monument erected in honor of the brilliant victory of 17 thousand of the Russian Army against 150 thousand soldiers of the Ottoman Empire near the Cahul River 21.07.1770", and at its base, data on the sponsors: "Monument restored in 2001 on the initiative and with the support of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Moldova, the Congress of the Russian Community in the Republic of Moldova, the Guild of Russian Entrepreneurs in the Republic of Moldova, the Russian Company "Dionis Club".
