Bust of Mihai Eminescu

The bust of Mihai Eminescu (1850 – 1889), made by the sculptor Sergiu Ganenco, a member of the Union of Plastic Artists from the Republic of Moldova, after the first of the four known photographs of Eminescu, was unveiled on August 31, 2019, in the square near the Palace of Culture "Nicolae Botgros". Cast in bronze, the bust was mounted on a stylized column, fixed on a marble-clad concrete plinth. Only his signature, "Eminescu", was inlaid under the bust. Officials of the municipality, representatives of the Diocese of South Bessarabia, of the Union of Writers from the Republic of Moldova, numerous local residents were present at the inauguration.
