    Short description

    Vocational School No. 1 was founded in 1976 as Technical School No. 15, affiliated with the Canning Factory in the city of Cahul, and along the way reorganized in 1997, as Polyvalent Vocational School No. 1 in the city of Cahul, and finally, in 2003, the institution obtained the Status of Vocational School.
    National economic transformations and labor market requirements forced the teaching staff and the management team to focus on new transformations in terms of professional training. Following the study of the regional and local labor market, new professions were opened such as Cook, Confectioner, Technical Support Operator, Seamstress, Tailor. New practical training laboratories equipped according to current requirements were needed. In the last ten years, the infrastructure requirements for theoretical and practical training have been confirmed, thus 2 laboratories for tailors, seamstresses were redeveloped and equipped; 3 laboratories for cooks, confectioners; re-equipped 2 laboratories for the profession of food controllers; 2 laboratories for the profession of technical support operator. The living conditions of students in dormitories were improved.

    Currently, the institution has 441 students studying in the 7 professions, 84 employees are active, of which 45 are teachers. The institutional team makes every effort for the viability of the school in time and space. Involvement in various national and international projects denotes the fact of the increased competence of the teachers, being involved in curriculum development at the national level, curriculum piloting and development of professional standards focused on the accessibility, quality and relevance of professional training.
