Professional School no. 1

Vocational School no. 1 was established in 1976 as Technical School no. 15, affiliated to the Canning Factory in the city of Cahul, and along the way reorganized in 1997 as Polyvalent Vocational School no. 1 in the city of Cahul, and finally, in 2003 , the institution obtains the Professional School Status.
National economic transformations and the demands of the labor market have forced the teaching staff and the management team to focus on new transformations in terms of professional training. Following the study of the regional and local labor market, new professions were opened such as Cook, Confectioner, Technical Support Operator, Seamstress, Tailor. New practical training laboratories equipped according to current requirements were needed. In the last ten years, the infrastructure requirements for theoretical and practical training have been confirmed, thus being remodeled and equipped 2 laboratories for tailors, seamstresses; 3 laboratories for chefs, confectioners; repurposed 2 laboratories for the profession of food product controllers; 2 laboratories for the profession of technical support operator. The living conditions of the students in the dormitories were improved.

Currently, 441 students are studying in the institution in the 7 professions, 84 employees are active, of which 45 are teaching staff. The institutional team puts its full effort into the viability of the school in time and space. The involvement in various national and international projects denotes the increased competence of the teaching staff, being involved in curriculum development at the national level, curriculum piloting and professional standards development focused on the accessibility, quality and relevance of professional training.
