    In the summer of 1954, the Children's Music School was founded in the south of Moldova, which opened a unique possibility for many young talents to develop and manifest themselves.
    During its existence, the school underwent many changes, and on February 17, 1994, by the decision of the Cahul City Hall, it was awarded the title of "Maria Cebotari" School of Arts, a name that was definitively inlaid in the world's golden book of the most prestigious personalities of lyrical art of all times, offering graduates the following specialties: music, plastic arts, theater, choreography. At the moment, by the decision of the Cahul municipal council on September 14, 2021, the institution was reorganized and renamed the "Maria Cebotari" School of Music, emphasizing only the field of music. The institution trained professional musicians, who contributed to the development of the cultural life of the Republic of Moldova. We will mention a few names: Serghei Covalenco, Emil Croitoru, Boris Dolinschii, Svetlana Bălăescu, Olia Tira, Stela Botez, Gabriel Nebunu. The following subjects are taught at the music school: tambourine, piano, violin, choir, aerophone instruments, guitar, theoretical subjects, singing, vocal and instrumental ensemble.

    At the Music School, 186 students are currently studying, in the specialties of Instrumental Interpretation, Dramatic Art, Fine Arts. Among the recognized collectives are the children's choir "CAPRICCIO" conducted by Mihnea Svetlana, the ensemble of violinists "ALLEGRETTO" conducted by Stepanov Stela, the folk ensemble conducted by Nicolae Ciobănică, the ensemble of violinists conducted by Ludmila Bejan. The institution is recognized locally, regionally and nationally, including internationally, adding to its track record a string of great results in a multitude of competitions in Bulgaria, Russia, Turkey, Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Prague, Kyrgyzstan, Italy, Spain, Moldova , Turkey, Romania, occupying only the top prizes.

    The institution has 28 partially equipped technical offices, a not so spacious festival hall, where we carry out the planned extracurricular activities, a library, storage space, a sanitary block inside the institution, a spacious newly paved courtyard, as well as 4 separate entrances to the blocks.

    At the beginning of 2021, the renovation process of the building carried out by the City Hall of Cahul with the support of the Embassy of Japan was completed, through which the roof, thermal and facade insulation, the heating and lighting system were changed, including the interior repair of all spaces.
