    In the summer of 1954, the Children's Music School was founded in southern Moldova, which opened a unique opportunity for many young talents to develop and manifest themselves. During its existence, the school underwent many changes, and on February 17, 1994, by decision of the Cahul City Hall, it was awarded the title of the "Maria Cebotari" School of Arts, a name that was definitively enshrined in the world's golden book of the most prestigious personalities of lyrical art of all time, offering the following specialties to its graduates: music, fine arts, theater, choreography. At the moment, by decision of the Cahul municipal council on September 14, 2021, the institution was reorganized and renamed the "Maria Cebotari" School of Music, focusing only on the field of music. The institution trained professional musicians, who contributed to the development of the cultural life of the Republic of Moldova. We will mention a few names: Serghei Covalenco, Emil Croitoru, Boris Dolinschii, Svetlana Bălăescu, Olia Tira, Stela Botez, Gabriel Nebunu.
    The following subjects are taught at the music school: dulcimer, piano, violin, choir, aerophone instruments, guitar, theoretical subjects, singing, vocal and instrumental ensemble.

    At the School of Music, 186 students are currently studying, in the specialties of Instrumental Performance, Dramatic Art, Fine Arts. Among the recognized collectives are the Children's Choir "CAPRICCIO" conducted by Mihnea Svetlana, the Violin Ensemble "ALLEGRETTO" conducted by Stepanov Stela, the Folklore Ensemble conducted by Nicolae Ciobănică, the Violin Ensemble conducted by Ludmila Bejan. The institution is recognized at the local, regional and National levels, including International, adding to its track record a series of great results at a multitude of competitions in Bulgaria, Russia, Turkey, Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Prague, Kyrgyzstan, Italy, Spain, Moldova, Turkey, Romania, occupying only the top prizes.

    The institution has 28 partially technically equipped offices, a not-so-spacious celebration room, where we carry out the planned extracurricular activities, a library, storage space, a bathroom inside the institution, a spacious, freshly paved courtyard, and there are 4 separate entrances to the blocks.

    At the beginning of 2021, the building renovation process carried out by the Cahul City Hall with the support provided by the Embassy of Japan was completed, which included changing the roof, thermal and facade insulation, heating and lighting system, including the interior repair of all spaces.
