    Short description

The “Ioan Vodă” Theoretical High School in Cahul is the first and oldest institution in southern Moldova and in Cahul district, which was established in 1913. Initially a high school for boys, in 1918 the institution became known as “Ioan Voievod”, and later became a “Boarding School”.

In 1990, the high school was granted the status of a pre-university institution, thus becoming the “Ioan Vodă” Theoretical High School in Cahul. Since 2000, the high school has been part of various international projects such as: the Bilingual Classes Project in the Republic of Moldova (2000), the ROBOCLUB Program (2017), the North Carolina – Moldova Service Learning School Partnership Project (2016-2017; 2017-2018), etc. Also, the high school students annually participate in various local and international competitions, obtaining top places: the Flex program, the district competition Feel English-Speak English, and the district and republican Olympiads.

Since the founding of this institution, students have had the opportunity to study two modern languages: English and French. The good preparation of students and teachers has led, in recent years, to the successful passing of English language proficiency certification tests such as: TOEFL, Cambridge, DELF. The high school has well-equipped classrooms with technology, school furniture and trained teachers, thus ensuring the smooth conduct of the educational process.

"Ioan Vodă" High School is a complex and modern educational institution that combines tradition with innovation and offers students accessible training opportunities, while supporting the development of a harmonious, creative, pragmatic and success-oriented personality.

We focus on studying foreign languages, using computers and the internet simultaneously with a strong promotion of civic values, talents, literary, artistic and sports skills that constitute the specific requirements of the school, in partnership with local and international communities, NGOs, while simultaneously supporting the initiation of educational projects.
